Using this site

The Pyrmont Stay is an independent editorial and booking-request website about The Star Sydney at 80 Pyrmont Street, Pyrmont NSW 2009, Sydney, Australia. It is not the official website of The Star Sydney, The Darling, The Star Grand, The Darling Spa or The Star Entertainment Group.

Our pages are written as dated opinion and factual guidance. They are prepared from the sources available to us at the time of writing or updating, including official hotel, spa, dining, transport and regulator material where available. A review page may help you compare The Darling, The Star Grand, rooms and suites, The Darling Spa or getting there by light rail and ferry, but it is not a promise that every facility, room category, restaurant, bar, rate, opening hour or policy will be available on your dates.

Some details change without notice. Where the hotel does not publish a fact on the pages we can reach, we say so rather than fill the gap. If a page contains a clear error, please use the contact details in the footer so we can review it.

Requests, availability and rates

When you send a room or spa enquiry through request a room or spa stay, you are asking our desk to help check availability or pass your request to the hotel or an appropriate booking partner. Sending a request does not create a confirmed booking. A booking exists only when the hotel or booking partner confirms it and you accept the terms attached to that confirmation.

We do not guarantee rates, inclusions, room allocation, spa treatment times, restaurant availability, harbour outlooks, high floors, bedding, early check-in, late check-out or special requests. Any price or package offered to you may depend on the date, room type, number of guests, cancellation terms, payment method and availability at the time the hotel or partner checks it.

The contract for accommodation, spa services, dining or any other hotel service is between you and the hotel or the relevant booking partner, not this website. You are responsible for reading the cancellation, payment, identification, age, deposit and house rules supplied with any offer or confirmation before you agree to it.

Independence and commercial position

The Pyrmont Stay is editorially independent. We may earn a commission when a request made through this site becomes a confirmed stay, as explained on how this site earns. That commission is paid by the hotel or booking partner, not by the reader. It does not make this site the hotel, the hotel’s agent for all purposes, or a party to your accommodation contract.

Our independence means we choose what to include, what to question and what to leave out when a fact cannot be verified. It also means our descriptions are not official hotel copy. For official information, you should consult the hotel or partner before committing to travel, especially where timing matters, such as spa hours, pool access, restaurant openings, theatre nights, parking limits or transport changes.

The Star Sydney's casino licence remains suspended (since 2022). NICC (25 September 2026): the Minister amended the Casino Control Regulation 2019 to extend the term of the manager, Nick Weeks, until 30 June 2027; 'Mr Weeks will continue to hold the casino licence for The Star Pty Limited ... allowing the casino to continue operating gaming facilities while its licence remains suspended.' This site does not provide online casino play and does not take gaming requests.

Your responsibilities

You agree to use this site lawfully and for personal travel-planning or enquiry purposes. You must not misuse the request form, submit false contact details, attempt to interfere with the site, copy substantial parts of the site for commercial use, or use our pages in a way that suggests we endorse another business or service.

If you send a request for someone else, you must have their permission to share their details and travel preferences. You should make sure the information you provide is accurate, including dates, guest numbers, preferred hotel, spa interest and any access needs you want the hotel or partner to consider.

Casino-related entry rules, identification requirements and responsible gambling information are separate from a hotel or spa request. If those matters are relevant to your visit, read our responsible gambling page and check the venue’s current entry requirements before arrival. Nothing on this site should be read as advice to enter the casino or take part in gaming.

Liability and governing law

We take care with the site, but we provide it on an “as is” basis. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for loss arising from changed hotel policies, unavailable rooms, unavailable spa appointments, transport disruption, restaurant closures, pricing changes, errors supplied by third parties, or decisions you make after reading the site.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law. If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the remaining parts continue to apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. By using this site, you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the site or send a request.
